The Sussex Elementary Home & School is in the process of building a beautiful new Discovery Park.  The Discovery Park will be a centrally-located outdoor community space at Sussex Elementary School in Sussex, NB, dedicated to introducing natural elements back into the play environment for the entire community.  The principles of universal design are at the heart of the concept to ensure children and adults of all abilities can meaningfully explore:  Creative/Cognitive Play, Social Play, and Physical Play.  Please visit www.discoverypark.ca for more information.

MONCTON (GNB) – Six new video vignettes have been created to promote breastfeeding and to support New Brunswick mothers.
The new videos have been posted to the Breastfeeding NB Facebook page and on the provincial government YouTube channel:

The long-awaited Best Start Resource Centre website for parents: www.HealthyBabyHealthyBrain.ca is now live!

This website offers parents many suggestions to help them support their baby’s brain development. The website has 15 short videos on topics such as nutrition, sleep, play, physical activity, attachment, self-regulation, discipline, stress, etc. The website is intended for future parents and for parents of children aged zero to three.

The videos show real-life situations. Some of the videos include expert commentary on the parent-child interactions. The website also contains links to useful additional resources. All the videos can be shared through online social networks.
